PDA - 2004

Jadavpur University has been selected by Tokyo Foundation for an award under the SYLFF Programme Development Award (PDA) based on its application to initiate student exchange programme with Howard University, USA. The objective of the programme is to enhance the scope of research by students at the Masters, M.Phil and Ph.D level on Indo-US, African and African –American, and South Asian Studies, and improve the course curriculum of the relevant taught courses. The expected outcomes of the programme are as follows:

a.

To plan bilateral programme of student exchanges at the Masters and Ph.D levels.

b.

To encourage research among the students of both the universities.

c.

To enhance the existing courses offered in both the universities.

d.

To initiate the possibility of a course on Contemporary US/South Asian Relations.

e.

To explore the possibilities of credit transfer.

f.
