Placements
Factory Training
Though attachment to a factory for a specified period
is not a precondition for an Engineering Degree here,
adequate arrangements are made for intensive factory
visits and vacational training at the factories. As the
graduate programme is completed the students are
recommended to various firms and establishments
who want qualified young people for their organisations.

Employment Bureau
The Government has established an Employment Bureau on the campus.
It helps in registering the students names for employment,
thus avoiding long queues at the Employment Exchange.

Officer of Placement and Training
An officer, well informed regarding employment market and in constant
touch with the employers is there to guide and assist. No doubt
his job is easier for Engineering Graduates than those of Arts and
Science Faculties. About 100 companies come each year for campus
recruitment during pre final year. Rate of placement from campus
is around 80 percent.

Alumni Association
Jadavpur is first among the Indian Universities to organise in
an Alumni Association in 1921 and the moral and material help of
the Alumni sustained Jadavpur in times of need. The Alumni Association
has on the campus its own house, the Old Boys' Home, having guestrooms
which are lent out on demand, and the ground floor which is generously
used as the sports pavilion.
The Indoor Stadium, originally known as Recreation Hall, was an
Alumni gift to the University. Alumni Association has its branches
in all-important cities of India, and these days, even on other
side of the globe, the U.S.A., U.K., Australia. The Alumni Association
is ready to extend all possible help, to the University Community
at large and specially to the young students.
The growth of University is possible with continuous help from
alumni who are spread all over the world.
