The Beginning

The Alumni Association NCE, Bengal was formed in 1921 and
was registered in 1926. The present building of the Association
on the Campus was completed in 1941. From the very beginning,
the members of the Alumni Association helped the College of
Engineering and Technology (C.E.T) and later, the Jadavpur
University in many ways. In recognition of this, the Alumni Association was represented in the policymaking bodies of NCE and the University from 1942 to 1985. In particular, in the 1940’s, even the salary of the teachers were provided by the members of the Alumni Association. Later, the Alumni Association had built the Indoor Stadium of the University. The ground floor of the Alumni Association Building is being used by the students as a sports pavilion.

Historically, over the years, illustrious students like Prof. Triguna Sen, Prof. Gopal Chandra Sen, Prof. Hem Chandra Guha associated themselves as Presidents and Secretaries of the Association. Also, the Association opened branches in most of the cities in India and abroad.

Today there are very active branches of the Association in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Salt Lake, etc. in India. Branches in Canada, UAE, UK, Washington, New York, Northern California, etc. are also very active and work in close cooperation with the head quarters in the campus.
