Bachelor of Library & Information Science - Eligibility and Procedure for Selection

A day course of one year's duration and an evening course of 18 months' duration, leading to the degree of Bachelor of Library & Information Science.

Conditions for Eligibility

For Deputed Candidates

Bachelor's degree in any subject with at least one year's experience (as on the last date for submission of applications) as a whole-time salaried employee in a recognized library / information centre. The application must be forwarded with a No-Objection Certificate by the appointing authority.

For Certificate-holders

Bachelor's degree in any subject plus Certificate in Library Science with minimum 60% marks (45% for SC/ST and 55% for PO candidates) from a recognized institution.

For Others (admitted to Day Course only)

An Honours and/or Master's degree in any subject or equivalent degree with a minimum of 50% marks (no marks barrier for SC/ST/PD candidates) from a recognized institution, with a minimum of 45% marks in the H.S. or equivalent examination.

Selection Procedure

Selection will be made on the basis of academic results, interview and experience (for deputed candidates).
