Attainments at National and International Level

The department is considered to be the pioneer in the field of Instrumentation as it was the first department in Eastern India and third in India to start a course in this field. Recently, the department has been identified by Department of Science & Technology for the FIST 2002 program. The department has excellent relation with DRDO and projects are sponsored regularly. An International conference on Fuzzy Systems ‘AFSS 2002’ was organized in collaboration with Indian Statistical Institute.

Academic contribution in the last five years

The department was offering two undergraduate courses in Instrumentation and Electronics Engg. till 2000. The post-graduate program has been started from the year 2000. Eight scholars have completed their Ph.D.s since 1998 and five are pursuing. The undergraduate syllabi have been revised for both the courses in the year 2000.

Awards

The department has been identified by Department of Science & Technology for the FIST 2002 program.

Prof. D. Patranabis has been awarded the Emeritus Fellowship Award for 2 years after his retirement.
