Research activities
Research and regular publications are done by the members and their
students in the field of General Theory of Relativity, Astrophysics
and Cosmology. Regular weekly seminars are held on different topics.
Theses seminars are given by the members as well as the invited
experts from various research Institute and Universities all over
India and sometime from abroad. The purpose of the Centre is to
create a forum for interactions of different experts and students
from neighbouring research and teaching Institutions.
Research publications in the last five years
Nearly sixty papers published in international reputed journals
like Physical ReviewD, Classical and Quantum Gravity, General relativity
and Gravitation, Modem Physics Letters, International Journal of
Modem Physics etc.
Collaboration
Close collaboration with the Inter University Centre for Astronomy
and Astrophysics,Pune. Three faculty members and two regular visItors
are Associates of IUCAA,Pune at present. Very recently IUCAA has
agreed to set up one of its Reference Centres at the Relativity
and Cosmology Research Centre,Deptt ofPhysics,JU.
Conference/symposium
The Relativity and Cosmology Research Centre has since its establishment
organized three big workshops and symposium including a recent one
in February 2003. Members very often visit research institutes and
participate in the conferences held abroad.
Library facility
The Centre has a significant collection of books on Relativity and
Cosmology and related fields. It subscribes an important research
journal General relativity and Gravitation (GRG)for the last few
years.
Infrastructural facilities
An office room, furniture and computer are available for the members
and visitors.
