Professor Sivaji Bandyopadhyay is currently working as Professor in the Computer Science & Engineering Department ,Jadavpur University,India.His present research interests include Corpus & Language Resource Developement,Named Entity Recognition(NER),Named Entity Transliteration,Information Retrieval,Passage Retrieval,Question Answering System,Text Summarization,Language Generation,Word Sense Disambiguation,Machine Translation,POS Tagging,Topic Detection and Tracking.

       Current Research & Developement Projects in which he is involved are CLIA(Cross Lingual Information Access),EILMT(English to Indian Languages Machine Translation ),IL-ILMT(Indian Language to Indian Language Machine Translation System),STIC-ASIA
